Selling on eBay

Do you already sell on eBay?

It’s certainly a valid way to make money from home and the ones who are successful with it do very well. I’ve been thinking about it myself recently, because there are some changes which should make it easier for honest merchants to do well. Basically eBay are taking measures to get rid of the ‘undesirables’, which is good for all of us.

To learn about the best ways to sell information products on eBay (that’s what I’ll be selling) I’ve been reading lots of blogs and I recommend you do too.

I came across John Thornhill’s blog the other day and there’s a lot of information on it.  If you visit here you’ll read something very interesting. John talks about eBay’s new feeback. Now it’s not possible to leave negative feedback for your customer.

eBay just put power back into the hands of the customer. That should do two things pretty quickly.

1) It will kill off all those businesses that are selling garbage.

2) It will force sellers to offer a better quality service.

That’s very good news for me and you.

Why?

Because it means we can compete on service. If you offer your customer a good buying experience and look after them, not only are you likely to get good feedback, but you’re more likely that they’ll come back and buy from you again. And that is definitely a good thing for anyone wanting to make a living at home. Repeat business is cheaper and better than having to go out looking for new business all the time.

How To Choose A Good Domain Name

What is a good domain name?

You should choose a domain name that is short, easy enough to remember and easy to spell. If the domain name you want is already taken, you can see if the .net or .org variation is available. You can also use hyphens to create unique domain names.

Be careful! If you do choose a .net, .org or domain name with hyphens, you must make sure you’re not treading on someone else’s toes.

If you use a name that is trademarked or copyrighted, or protected in some other way, the owner of that name can come after you. It’s best always to choose a unique name and do check first that it’s not the name of an existing company or business. You can do that easily just by searching online.

Which characters are allowed?

You are allowed to use numbers, letters and hyphens. However, you cannot begin or end with a hyphen in the domain name.

Do I have to put the http:// on?

No, because that will be done automatically for you.

Protecting Your Products

If you’re involved in information marketing – and you should be because it’s a great way to make money – you will almost certainly have been robbed at some point.

Digital thieves make it their job to steal your valuable content and products.

It’s a fact.

There are ways to protect your downloads. I use them myself.

One of the best ways to get started is with a low cost high value solution, called SmartDD Lite. It’s a tool that makes it almost impossible for people to steal your products. It’s a digital download protection too, in fact.

I’m offering a discounted link to get SmartDD Lite – my husband is a reseller and is offering it to my readers at a special price.

On Tuesday I’ll post the link for the discounted copy. If you pick up a copy from here I’ll send you 3 digital products for free, that you can start selling using Smart DD Lite. You’ll be in business before you know it!

UPDATE:
Here’s that link I promised you: Special Offer

System requirements: Your web space must be running at least PHP4 & MySQL.

That’s it. Most decent server set ups have both of the above, so you should be fine, but there’s always a couple who try to turn back the clock.  If you need a recommendation on webhosting just have a look here.
