Get A Domain Name

The first thing you should do is to get yourself a domain name. That is your choice of name for your website. For example, the domain name of this website is ‘workathomemomstips.com’. To get a domain name, you must pay a yearly fee to a registrar and that gives you the right to use that name. Once you get the name, it is not actually a website, it is just a name. It’s a bit like if you think about opening a shop, you know what you want to call it, so you can register the business name. You have to also find the premises to open the shop, which is a separate thing.

Find a Web Host and Get a Web Host Account

A web host is actually a company that has loads of computers connected to the Internet. If you put your web pages on their computers, anyone in the world can connect to them and see them. You need to get an account with a web host then your website has a ‘home’, so to speak. That’s the equivalent of finding your shop premises and paying rent.
